The finest science fiction writer since Karel Čapek, Josef Nesvadba was born in 1926 in Prague, where he studied medicine and specialized in psychiatry before turning to the more visible world of literature.
His most famous translated works include "Vampires Ltd., In the Footsteps of the Abominable Snowman, and "The Lost Face. Not to mention the films of his stories, especially "Death of an Apeman and The Idiot of Xeenemünde.
Beneš' Hell, a political science fiction, has recently been published.
Josef Nesvadba lives in Prague.
